The City of Bartow is the county-seat of Polk County with a population of approximately 16,000 and a land area of approximately 37 square miles. Activities associated with the circuit and county courts and the many state, county, and city facilities greatly increase the demand upon the Police Department. Bartow Police Department is staffed with forty-seven sworn police officers and twenty-eight non-sworn civilian personnel. The Department pursued and achieved Florida State Accreditation through the Commission for Florida Accreditation (CFA). The Bartow Police Department is a full-service Police Department that strives to partner with the community.
