The Colfax Police Department serves the City of Colfax, Iowa. We are located in central Iowa on I-80, midway between Des Moines and Newton on the western edge of Jasper County. Our department currently has an authorized strength of 4 full time and 5 part time Iowa Law Enforcement Academy Certified officers. We also have a very active group of 10 Reserve officers. These officers provide a wide variety of services to the community including routine patrol, bicycle patrol and crime prevention.
