The Fort Shawnee Police Department is a municipal police department in Allen County, Ohio, serving approximately 5000 residents. Fort Shawnee, whose Mayor is Dennis Shaffer, adjoins Lima (long I, as in China), with a population of approximately 45,000 residents, Shawnee Township, Perry Township, the Village of Cridersville, and Auglaize County. Although we appear to be a small department, we have many of the problems of larger departments. We feel that in order for all departments to succeed, there must be a strong spirit of cooperation among the many different local, state and federal law enforcement and public service agencies.
