The Apopka Police Department is an organization comprised of rich history and heritage. Founded as the Town of Apopka City in September of 1882 and holding its first elections at the Masonic Lodge on Main Street, Mr. T.A. Vick was appointed the Town’s Marshall. From that very humble beginning, public safety has and remains a priority with the City Council. Today, the Apopka Police Department is comprised of dedicated men and women who look to better the Apopka community. The department has 90 full-time equivalent (FTE’s) positions. The FTE’s consist of 80 sworn and 10 support positions eager to serve the citizens of the community.
