The supervisory and command staff of the Mayfield Police Department have worked very hard over the past year and a half to develop and implement the departments first Strategic Plan. As a part of this plan we have developed clear mission, vision, and value statements. Most importantly we have developed a set of goals along with a clear plan to accomplish these goals.
Another area of improvement has been in the area of traffic safety. Kentucky has extremely high automobile insurance rates. This is likely from low seatbelt usage rates and no formal driver education process. These factors lead to dangerous roadways and a high probability of being involved in an injury related accident. The Mayfield Police Department has committed to reducing the likelihood of injury accidents by focusing on four primary causes of accidents: 1. Speeding 2. Stop Light/Sign Violations 3. Signal Violations and 4. Seatbelt Usage.
