The Central Point Police Department is the primary police agency serving the City of Central Point. E-911, dispatch services and after hours business telephone answering are provided per contract with Southern Oregon Regional Communications (SORC). Sworn peace officers are deployed 24 hours per day, 365 days per year in marked vehicles, unmarked vehicles, and special use vehicles. The department is funded from the City's General Fund and account for about 45% of the General Fund total. The department employs 32 personnel, including 23 paid sworn, 4 paid non-sworn, 3 reserves, 1 chaplain and 1 part time retired employee, with an annual operating budget of $3.1 million dollars. The department's fleet consists of a total of 15 vehicles, including 7 marked patrol cars, 7 unmarked cars and 2 specialized vehicles.
